The cut frames we ship have a groove cut in the back and enclosed you will
find some plastic wedges.
Since you don't have expensive picture
framing vises this is the most accurate and easy way to assemble frames.
Multiple frames will have the sizes wrapped together and they will not be
paired. Since they are all cut and
grooved at the same time you should have
no problem getting an acceptable frame assembled.
SUPPLIES
1) glue, wood glue or even white glue
2) Flat surface to layout frame, WITH a cover to protect the table top,
DO NOT GLUE YOUR FRM TO YOUR DINNING ROOM TABLE.
3) Something to tap with. Be careful if you use a hammer DON'T MESS UP
THE MOLDING. Put a
thick cover over the molding then light tap and
most of the time just pressure with your hands will be enough
4) Waxed paper under the corner is good
5) A lightly damp cloth or paper towel to wipe away excess glue.
6) Wait for it to dry.
ASSEMBLY
1) Lay out the frame in order of assembly, note the holes and
the wedges
2) Be sure you have enough room and you need to work fairly fast
3) Working with the frame face down and holes up add glue and
wedges in each corner. Be sure to have
a waxed paper under the corners.
And don't use a lot of glue so you get "squash out". (that the technical
term)
4) As soon as all corners have glue and wedges
installed, turn the frame
face up and
If the frame is large be sure to have someone handle to
help you flip it over.
The back edge is not as important as the front.
5) Wipe away any excess glue, check that corners are even on the
top. (your
fingers will feel any difference before your eyes will detect it) and let frame corners dry.
Overnight is best,
but at least an hour or two.
NOTE: If you break the corners before they are dry they
will not line up again unless they are disassembled and glue is shaved off.
You are now ready to put your art work into this new frame you
just built. COOL.....
Now you can go to Installing
