My name is Lyn Buerger and I've been doing some art form my entire life.
I finished high school with a 3.96 average and I still hate that teacher
who knocked out my 4.0 One grade on one test. yuck. I went to college
but not with the intent of getting a degree. Just wanted to take classes
that interested me and would benefit my life; math, English, public
speaking, psychology, history, and art of course.
The most wonderful part of my life is simply that I get to do what I
enjoy the most all day long and I don't have a boss looking over my
shoulder. I know that I control my own destiny. The harder I
work the more I enjoy my time. If I have a second free I'll find some
activity to stick in that time zone.
My first sellable art, at about 6 years old, was a Sunday School picture (glued it to a piece of
sheet rock with some glass chips and
small rocks glued around it for a
frame--it must have been just awful) and I got 15 cents for it from
Mrs. Rodgers....Gosh I loved that
lady.
And I've been at it ...every since. I have had the experiences of
working for small companies and big companies, but I would not like
to do
that again; from Jewelry stores, department stores, General Dynamics,
personal assistant to a doctor, taught art/craft class on several cruise
lines and ultimately my own personal business.
Lyn Arts. I've been a sole proprietor since 1970.
Most of my time is spent at the retail location
which also doubles as my private studio. If I'm not with a customer or working on an
art
project then I'm on the computer wasting time. We recently
downsized and I'm trying to get 14,000 sq of junk into a 1200 sq ft
place.
Whew. If you need something let me know....I probably have it. Or watch for
me on eBay (under Lyn-Arts) tried to get it to link
but it would not.
My most favorite activity is talking with people. If I'm selling
I'm happy and if I'm not selling I'm still talking with people.
At the present time I am transferring my business to my son Jerry who has
been working with me for a number of years. He is the one who actually
does the picture framing and will be cutting your frames. He is
the "best" and maintains such a high standard that is not always easy to stay
on his level. Don't tell him I said that or he will want a raise.
